Acknowledgments
I am deeply grateful for all of my teachers, especially the dedicated and esteemed faculty of SIEAM, who provided a well-rounded foundation in East Asian medicine, and the remarkable and renowned Dr. Vasant Lad, who imparted the true essence of healing.
There is no life without problems. When your life is balanced, problems are welcome. When we’re out of balance, problems become a challenge, and that challenge is our opportunity for change. When we change our attitudes and our perceptions, our whole lives will become a wonderful journey. ~ Dr. Lad
Testimonials
“I have been having acupuncture for over 30 years and I find Eva to be one of the finest and skillful acupuncturists I’ve encountered. Of her many qualities, compassion and thoughtfulness rank high. Her sweet nature is most appreciated. I feel grateful to know her.”
– Marilyn H.
“As an acupuncturist, Eva Shu is an authentic alternative care provider, for she is patient, attentive and meticulous in her approach to treating her patients. Her demeanor gives her patients the feeling of confidence in her, and that is essential to the healing process.”
– Victoria D.
“Every time I have an acupuncture treatment with Eva, I feel very good. Eva knows how to work and treat the patient. She is also very kind and gentle throughout her treatment. Thank you, Eva, for being an acupuncture practitioner and a very beautiful human being.”
– G. N.
“Eva was very insightful, and calm, and of a lovely, light demeanor, which is exactly what I needed in a moment of crisis.”

“Eva is a true healer. From the moment you sit down with her, there is an empathetic connection and it’s crystal clear she genuinely cares about the well-being of her patients. Her background is in both Traditional Chinese Medicine and Ayurveda and she is intensely knowledgeable about both. As I continue to work with her, I’m enjoying learning about how Chinese medicine intersects with Ayurveda, and I’m more familiar with how I can work these ancient self-care practices seamlessly into my day.
Eva has been treating me with acupuncture, herbs, and lifestyle advice and has made a tremendous impact in my daily well-being. Eva also provided my first cupping treatment, which was heavenly, and introduced me to Tui Na massage. Whether I am suffering from chronic conditions, immediate injuries, or everyday stress, I find that a session with Eva is deeply healing on all levels.”

“Eva Shu is an incredibly skilled and nuanced acupuncturist. I’ve had a lot of acupuncture in the past 30-35 years from a lot of great acupuncturists, weekly treatments for a good 10 years. Eva is unique in this process, compared to the truly fantastic help I’ve received from all others, and her help has touched me deeply.
A solid and unique strength is that, in addition to being a licensed acupuncturist, Eva has completed Dr. Lad’s 2 year immersive program in Ayurvedic medicine. I really feel these branches are complementary and gives Eva unique perspective in her practice.
Eva’s gifts and developed talents of awareness and understanding bring a strength to her treatments that are a healing and a blessing. I had an injury to my dominant eye about 14 months ago leaving me legally blind and have been getting treated by Eva regularly. I think Eva’s treatments are helping my vision and I know her treatments help my overall health and process of healing along my way. I leave her treatments feeling renewed, relaxed and often energized. Being legally blind, not being able to drive my daughter to and fro, or work to my best capacity, has left me in a difficult place, mildly put. Eva has been a blessing in my journey of recovery. I’m so overwhelmed with gratitude. Thank you, Eva–you are a gem.”
– Chuck G.
“After your treatment yesterday I felt nearly whole again. Amazing and I am filled with gratitude. You helped my lungs SO much. Thank you again so much for everything, being so great at what you do.”
– Elizabeth S.
“Thanks for treatment yesterday. Wanted to let you know that it really helped. I am not walking like an 80 y.o. today, more like a 50 y.o….which is appropriate, haha.”
– T. N.
“I wanted to thank you for your great treatment of me last summer and early fall. I ended up getting quite busy with preparing to move and wasn’t having any more eczema symptoms. You did a great job!”
– Sabrina C.
“my rash has significantly improved, thanks to the acupuncture (THANK YOU!!!)!
I have to say I’m very encouraged by the progress. My rash, that was nonstop for 7 months, has nearly disappeared.”
– Marissa S.
“I feel so grateful for your guidance around my skin care last Summer; your combination of skill in chinese medicine specifically geared toward skin care and your grasp of ayurvedic knowledge and holistic factors–including food choices, emotional well-being, seasonal considerations, various aspects of daily rhythms, etc–together with your gentle caring and attitude of calling forth and empowering the innate healing forces within each us of…it’s such a gift, Eva! Not only did I receive immediate care for presenting symptoms, but learned (or was kindly reminded of :)) lasting lessons on how to better care for myself going forward. I’m very happy to know you’re following your calling here and continuing to serve others in your unique and generative way.”
– Chris J.
“I deeply appreciate having worked with you over the past six weeks. It has made a great difference in my life.”
– Debra K.

– S. W.
“[My son] really loves your treatment. Making appointment with you was a good persuasion… Thank you so much for your kindness and caring personality. We really appreciate it.”
– A. K.
“Wow! Almost half an hour after I got home, I just slowly, slowly started to..
… calm down.
It’s not even half as bad as when I left.”
– L. D.
“Hi Eva. Had a great day. Got a lot of work done. I did start to feel slight tightness in my back, I immediately sat and rested. Feeling much better. No more discomfort thereafter. Thank you again for the remarkable treatment. I applaud you.”
– I. B.
“A month ago today, during my last-of-the-season snowboarding trip, I got the bad idea to use my butt as a brake. In my attempts to avoid ending up further down the ravine and in a creek, I bailed last minute going over a half buried downed tree, smashing my left bottom side into the exposed portion. I have never felt my muscles so traumatized and so seized… When I got home, I had my first TCM (traditional Chinese medicine) treatment from Eva, LAc–the cupping procedure really helped to reduce the swelling and the pain coming from it and her home care advice was solid.”
– Shannon W.
